Hi all...

I am currently in backgrounds, waiting to do my initial interview. My question is... Can anyone let me know if their BI's contacted all of their past employers? I tried to get information from old employers when I was filling out the PHS, and some of the past employers did not have my records anymore. I just don't want this to slow things down if the BI is trying to get any of this info.

Like many of you, I have been through the orientations and read up on material, so I know what that says, but I am looking for someone who has actually COMPLETED the process, or at least gotten up to the medical to let me know what was actually done for them. I know they will contact my current and likely my past employer... but how about several employers back?
Thx.

My BI investigator visited (in person) all of my employers for the last seven years (4 contacts). Whether your employer has info on you or not your BI will ask, and will ask them if they know anyone else who knows you. Eventually your BI and/or psychologist may ask you about every employer you've ever had (be ready). Do as much legwork as humanly possible. You might call former employers, use the internet to track down addresses and phone numbers, and can contact the social security office for dates of employment. My BI was very thorough. Another hint: When I met with my BI five months after submitting my PHS I had many financial changes (i.e. home refi, new credit card and loan balances) I had to make those changes in front of my BI. Luckily, I have a laptop with wireless internet, so I sat in front of him looking up this information, although it was a little uncomfortable. After about an hour, my BI left to go talk with virtually all of my neighbors up and down the street. I had people coming up to me who I didn't know, who were questioned about me. Like I said, my BI was very thorough. I Hope this helps.
