Vet points

My RM took the CHP test last week & got his results Sat. He missed the cut off by 3 points, but didn?t receive his 5 veteran?s points. He sent in the form for his vet points to the SPB weeks before talking the test. I told him to call his recruiter today & explain his situation. He has his DD 214 in hand. Can anything be done? It sounds like he was screwed by the SPB.

i had that happen to me, unfortunatley i was told nothing could be done about it, i ended up reapplying and going through the PAT/QAP again in order to get the points

Vets points only come into play after the QAP, not the writen exam. Hope that answers your question.

Sounds like he didn't get his paperwork in with time to be processed. It does take several weeks. And as snowdog said, the Veterans points apply to the QAP. And it is 10 or 15 points.

Guess he's SOL. He does not want to reapply or wait & try to get on w/ my agency. He is currently being considered by CYA. Guess it all works out in the end.
