Prior to his career as a highway patrol officer, Norton was a Microsoft Systems engineer. "I'm kind of a tech geek," he said.

As someone who works in the same line of work, I can safely say you won't find a whole lot of people in decent physical shape or good vision in the eng departments.

If nothing else, at least the pay is pretty good for a non-government job.

Great story! When I was a PIO in Colorado, we found the smaller venues/media's were always very supportive of their local law enforcement.
