Illegal Aliens get free college too. What is this state coming to?

I don't disagree with banning open carry - seems dumb to me (especially unloaded open carry) - but the bill itself is a step in the wrong direction for gun ownership in this state.
The Dream Act II reconfirms my fears that this state is headed down the very wrong path. AZ is nice this time of year .... :hitwall:

Yeah, the idea of open carry is completely stupid, HOWEVER, the Government of California has now officially obliterated the last little sliver of the 2nd amendment. Aside from treading on ground far beyond the "States Rights" enumerated in the Constitution, they have also decided they would step on ours!
Thankfully, the NRA is a fabulous organization and they already have attorneys preparing this puppy for constitutional consideration.

Don't forget the 25% smartphone sales tax to pay for this nonsense, too.

Apparently, CA, MA, and RI calculate the sales tax based on the contract-free value of the phone even if you are getting it as discounted rate for renewing a contract (as the vast majority of buyers do). That's how a $300 phone ends up with a $60+ sales tax rather than ~$30 you'd expect.

Excellent, and thanks for reminding me to renew my membership.

Ah, yes - thats accurate. Sales tax is based off the pre-rebate price - and since discounts are typically "rebates", you're taxed on the full $500+ value of the device.
The same is true for cars - rebates are calculated as down payment assistance - you're taxed on the full price of the vehicle .... rebate comes off at the end. So, if you're buying a $40k car with a $2k rebate (technically actually paying $38k for the car), you're taxed on the full $40k.

While I thought open carry was stupid, I could see why the people were doing it. Unfortunately, it came back and bit us in the butt. In this liberal country of Kalifornia we "The People" have no rights. If it's fun or fattening, this state will try and regulate it. CARB is a perfect example, they have screwed up cars and motorcycles world wide and now if you want to do anything to your vehicle, you gotta be rich.
Feinstein wants to take our guns away, yet she keeps carrying hers. She wants to shut down the open riding land, yet buys a bunch of open land in Oregon so she can make money. Pelosi, who the heck knows what she wants, but it ain't in our interest.
I can't wait until next Nov. but based on how this state voted last time, we went against the entire country. Sheesh!

I don't have issues with taxes per se, but not when the state insists on taking money away from people who can support themselves and spend it on financing the education of the illegal infiltrators' offspring, bicycle lanes, and all the other socialist feel-good nonsense.
As for the phone, I'll just have to wait until I go out of state or get someone else outside CA to accept the shipment and mail it back to me.

at first I thought this would be another law that only was enforced at the sales counter; but then I watched the state send investigators out to take photos of contractors using their older compressors in the field. Lawsuits started working their tortured path through the courts. astounding when I saw photos in the court cases. a small time piss-ant contractor with a state tail for a week or more. Felons being turned loose by the gross, and they have money to tail a little contractor

I don't think he made any announcement on this himself...the governor I mean. No signing statement or comment that I know of.
The press has been extrapolating on this profusely with the inference that it is "guns" and leading people to believe it is all guns.
