Just wondering, why do you always type your questions in all caps? Is your caps lock key stuck?

I think you meant to post this in the Hiring Process forum

First off, loose the "MO"

Second, don't know how it is specifically scored, but if I remember right they say you can miss a lot and still pass.

ARE YOU AN OFFICER? IF NOT, KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM ALMOST 100% POSITIVE THAT ALL CHP OFFICERS MUST WRITE AND TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

I don't know one officer on this forum that types in all caps.

These are not reports or forms, its an online forum where grammar is a little more, "civilian". It's more of a courtesy then anything. No need to get defensive, guys.

My "MO" is to not answer questions for people who type in all caps.

Oh, and by the way....most officers do NOT type their reports in all caps. HTH.

NO, I AM NOT AN OFFICER. HOWEVER, I'LL USE CAPS TO RESPOND TO YOUR OPINION BECAUSE IT'S MY RIGHT AS A CIVILIAN. I HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE A CITIZEN'S ARREST AGAINST YOU! ;)

This was not a post for why people type in caps! Please stick to the topic! That would help me a lot! Thank You

I don't know that your original question made much sense.

For starters, it's obviously a scantron. If your question is referring to what algorithm they use, then, it's a bit self explanatory. If you do poorly on parts of the test, obviously it will impact your score negatively.

Essentially, your question kind of reads like this; "If you do bad on part of the test is it hard to pass?" Well, then, yes.

If this isn't your question, you might consider rephrasing it correctly so more people can give you better feedback.

I believe what he means to ask is, "IN TERMS OF OVERALL SCORE ON THE WRITTEN EXAM, HOW MUCH WEIGHT DOES THE FILL IN THE BLANKS PORTION CARRY WHEN COMPARED WITH THE REST OF THE EXAM?"

Diesel,

You need to do well on the multiple-choice portion of the test--no exceptions. You might want to pick up a couple of basic English composition books if you're worried about nailing it. Check out "Woe is I" by Patricia T O'Conner or the clever "Elephants of Style" by Bill Walsh. Those are both easy to read, entertaining, and rock-solid.

Ok does anybody know what T-score the chp requires?

The written test is one test that it will not help to know what score you need to beat.

Do your best, study, eat a good breakfast. You will do fine. Good luck.

Ah, then don't worry. Water under the bridge now. Knowing how its graded wont help anyway. Im sure you did fine. There's a lot more ahead to worry about with greater signifigance then this part. You will find out if you passed relatively soon anyway.

Grammar nazis of the world, unite! It's such a good book--even for those who might not have much of an interest in grammar.

FYI, it looks like the book can be had via E-bay for less than two bucks.

NOT BEING A SMART ASS OR ANYTHING AND THIS WILL BE MY LAST REPLY TO THIS CAPS THING, BUT MY FRIEND WHO IS A CHP SAID THAT AT THE ACADEMY ALL THINGS MUST BE WRITTEN IN CAPS. I KNOW THIS IS MORE OF A CIVILIAN FORUM BUT IT MAY BE GOOD TO GET USED TO THE CAPS THING IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE AN OFFICER. ONCE AGAIN I DONT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE. THANKS.

Wow... I didn't realize this capital letter thing was so serious! I'd better start practicing on all my reports at work so as to arrive at the academy prepared!

Policy is that handwritten documents are in all capital, block letters. Policy on typewritten documents specifically specifies sentence case.

Oh, and I have no clue about the T-score, but my understanding is that the required T-score was raised with the elimination of the essay.

Thanks for clearing that up for us.
