Looks like a long list of cool cars! If it wasn't such a long drive id hit that up!It's worth the drive. The only other emergency vehicle events of this caliber in the entire country are held in Chicago and NYC!

I'll bet your Z/28 needs a little road trip...

That 1969 CHP Polara is the best! Read an article in the Hemming On Line news about what it took to get it done.

I got to ride with Ron Hurwitz in 2009. He did an outstanding job on that car. He even has Spike Helmick's 1969 CVC book.

Another great show at Ripon is in the books. The weather was just about perfect and the attendance record set last year was broken this year by one entry. This is a very well run event that never fails to provide attendees and spectators alike with a unique and rewarding experience and this year's edition was no exception!

There were a ton of both in-service and restored CHP vehicles in attendance including the first appearance at Ripon of the agency's excellent 1931 Ford patrol car which garnered the Best of Show award. In my class, I took a second place and a restored 1986 CHP Mustang took third. The vehicles were very well received by show goers and I can report from the great new contacts I made over the weekend that we can expect to see two or three more CHP Mustang restorations of different years appearing in the near future.

I came home to a DOA computer so my photos will be posted as soon as I can muster up some repairs or a new box.

Enjoy and we'll see you all back at Ripon in 2012!

I'm going with that 61 CHP Dodge. Interior looks as nice as the exterior.

Be great if the owner could get ahold of the old bus driver style hat to display on the dash.

Be great if the owner could get ahold of the old bus driver style hat to display on the dash.Oh, the owner has one of those and probably a lot more too but he is a firm believer in minimal extra displays with his car....like none!
