I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY KNEW HOW LONG IT TAKES FROM THE TIME YOU TAKE YOUR WRITTEN TEST TILL THE TIME YOU GET AN ACCADEMY DATE. FOR EXAMPLE: I HAVE NEVER BEEN ARRESTED, NEVER EVEN GOT A SPEEDING TICKET. I?M 22 YEARS OLD. I HAVE SMOKED WEED WHEN I WAS LIKE 17 YEARS OLD AND TOOK ONE CYCLE OF ORAL STERIODS LIKE 3 YEARS AGO. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I HAD A LOT OF JOBS BUT HAVE HAD STABLE EMPLOYMENT FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. DO YOU THINK I WILL HAVE ANY TROUBLE IN BACKGOUND? ASSUMING ALL THAT DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TIME FRAME?

Tip:
Look at the top of the screen in the same blue bar as your log in name. Click on "search" enter the word "hiring" when the screen comes up and you will have 76 pages to cull through.

Another thing..giving out your life story on the forum doesnt help everyone is different and the Background investigators take everyone case by case.

retchp, you took the words out of my mouth.
diesel, I think you'll find all the answers to your questions and more if you look around a bit. When you're done, let us know if you have any other questions.

there is no set timeframe for the process. i know people that went 4 months from completing the written to getting the acceptance packet at their door. i know people that took 3 times that long. i started the physical in august (already passed written from previous cycle) and turned in my phs in the same month. it was january before i got the call to have my first background interview (which was set for the first week in feb). i ended up getting DQ'd, but you get the idea... timing varies from region to region, BI to BI, and number of qualified candidates going through the process.
don't get discouraged... patience is part of the test. just remember, there are only a few investigators per region, handling a ridiculous workload! they're working the best they can with the limited resources they have. they won't forget you... afterall, your that annoying manilla folder on their desk taking up space!!!

Processing: dont meant to be in your business but what did they DQ you for? Criminal or something else?

no prob... i was DQ'd for misdemeanor i received when i was in my later teens. although, the BI stated this was not necessarily a DQ, it was the fact that i didn't have the facts straight, and so during my initial interview with the BI, my story was a bit different than the one i gave when i got in trouble. that inconsistency landed me in the DQ pool!!! i was told that the past incident itself was not a major one, and that it may have gotten me DQ'd, although it probably wouldn't have being that 6 years had passed.
it was rough, but it was my own mistake. although i must say, the facts i gave during my initial were more accurate than those i gave when i got in trouble. i think when i got in trouble, i was nervous, and so i tried to fudge things a bit. while at the initial interview though, i gave more accurate reasons as to why i did what i did... oops... guess i should have explained why my story changed. its a learning experience though, one i'll keep in mind the next time i go through!!!
all-in-all, i was the one who screwed up to begin with by getting into trouble, so its my own fault that i even had to explain this to my BI!!!
