second commitment to hire letter

I received my first commitment to hire letter at the beginning of june, since then i turned in my PHS on time and am currently waiting to hear from a BI. Today I received a second commitment to hire letter, is it possible that my PHS packet got lost and this is their way of getting another one from me? My background investigation has started because my friends have received a letter asking about me and the CHP has pulled my credit report. Should I be concerned? I have copies of my original PHS but the paperwork states that it wants originals only.

I'd call someone and ask. My PHS did get lost in the mail, and I just received a call (about a month later) asking if I still wanted a shot at this job or not....talk about a bummer....not to mention that all my personal info is out there for someone to steal my identity and ruin my credit, etc...

i'm with you on calling someone, the number that was given in the commit to hire letter has been busy all day. :sad:
that's what prompted me to post here. i know my last phs was received because i sent is certified over night and a sgt called me the next day letting me know i forgot to sent my chp 441 form, i obviously sent it. come to think of it, i never received word that she received it or not, i can only assume she did because my background investigation had started, (credit report pulled, and friends receiving letters asking about me).

it's no big deal to fill out the paperwork again, and getting the notary again is no big deal, i just feel like i took a step backwards in the hiring process.

update... a BI just called me a few minutes ago to set up my initial interview. I mentioned to him that I received a second commitment to hire letter and he said that someone else also called him today about receiving 2 commitment to hire letters and said it was strange but not to worry.
anyways, im excitied that there still might be a chance for me to make it in time for the sept class. :smile:
