I flirted with moving back to Michigan and joining MSP back in 2000. Even took the writen test and that funky video scenario thing. Sounds like Snyder is screwing up the state pretty well. Only 36 recruits?

They look suprisingly just like our cadets - except for the snow on the ground. I say have a summer academy in El Centro and a winter academy at Tahoe - that'll break em in.:lol:

Yea Gov Snyder is pretty much pulling a reverse Robin Hood. He's attempting to raise the taxes of the middle and lower classes while giving breaks to business. He also is attempting to get rid of collective bargaining for public employees like Wisconsin did. MSP is lucky to have the lone class of 36. Funding for that class was approved under former Gov Granholm. 10 years ago, the Michigan State Police was the lead Michigan law enforcement agency. Now they are more reduced to a support agency to city and counties.
I probably would have been in your recruit class had you moved back here. I applied to the MSP but the class was canceled due to budget cuts. Worked out for the best though. The local department I've been with for the last 10 years is incredible.....pays much better too!:wink:

Yeah I keep reading more and more good things about The Nerd in the Free Press. Sounds like a winner. Hope you aren't employed by my hometown Romulus Police Department, FBI came in and raided their station.

No I'm not employed by Romulus thankfully. Romulus PD has been earning a shady reputation for some time now.
