I am so glad I found this forum where I could post my comments. I have always had nothing but respect for law enforcement. But after my personal experience recently, I have even more. I was driving home alone at night from Lake Tahoe and soon found myself stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire. My cell phone was not getting a signal and I have to admit I was a little scared. Being a single woman, I am very independent and able to do most things myself. But in this situation I was completely helpless. I can honestly say I have never had my prayers answered so quickly. Within 5 minutes a CHP officer came to my rescue. He was not only friendly and reassuring, but he made me feel like my safety was his number one priority that night. It really disturbs me that other people do not show gratitude or respect to officers. I appreciate you all more than I can express. Thank you so much for risking your own safety to protect ours.
Thanks for the kind words, Sweetdancer. It's refreshing when people take time to express their gratitude once in a while instead of "M-F'ing" us for doing our job!

You're very welcome Mac.
I can relate to getting a lot of non-sense from your job. Fortunately for me I am only in my present occupation to pay for my degree. Then I won't have to deal with it anymore.
Just remember that more of us appreciate you than those morons that don't.

I second that! For every jerk you come into contact with, just remember that there really are people out there that respect and admire what you all do!

sweetdancer...You might consider sending a letter to the Officer's Commander. Those letters are usually really appreciated...

Maybe she got her degree and decided she doesn't need the forums anymore?
