I've been having trouble scheduling a ride along at the Martinez or Dublin offices. I've called twice to each and left my contact information for the duty Sergeant to call me, and even stopped in at Martinez, and had no luck.
Is there anybody on here that would be willing to take me out or knows somebody that works in this area that I could contact? Thanks

My advice for you kenny is to go into the San Jose office in person and ask oe you should have your Explorer advisor call them and ask them for you. I don't see why they would not let you do a ride-along.

Anyone in the application process who is having difficulty scheduling a ride along should contact your local recruiter. Find the telephone number for your Division office and ask to speak to a recruiter. They should be able to help them out.
Remember, the Department generally does not grant ride-alongs to the general public. Even those who are allowed are at the Area Commanders discretion.

DW, I am not in the application process. I have a year of college left until I have my CJ degree. I am considering the CHP as an option and wanted to do a ride along to see if I would want to apply.

There's no harm in calling your local Area office, but they may say no. Let them know you're working on your CJ degree and considering the Department.
