Do people who have their Basic POST get any preferential treatment when going through the hiring process?

Okay well that sucks. I wish I had known that before I went through the post academy.

Geez, how many Turlock people are on here. And they are hurting, I spoke to one of their officers the other day and he is doing 20 hours OT a week.

Turlock is an excellent department, yes they are hurting for officers, but its rare to find a department that is not hurting.

No doubt everyone is looking for people....I had Placer Co. SO come out for some "interesting" people at work two nights ago....after all was said and done we chatted for a little while, and after me applying with CHP came up he asked me if I had given Placer any thoughts, and briefly started into thier recruitment talk.....nice guy though.

I have thought about Stockton. Recently I have been looking into Calaveras county SO and I have also been looking into Jackson PD in Amador county but you know I am only looking. I still have not made up my mind yet.

having the post academy will give you a heads up during the CHP acaedmy, because you would have already taken all the classes and tests (minus CHP specific stuff like spanish and a whole heck of a lot more DUI and vehicle code).
