How bad does your credit history have to be in order to get DQ'd? What if they are debts sent to collections and you dont make alot of money...you basically live paycheck to paycheck, and pay the bills that are mainly required to keep you above water. What if you are simply just not making it...like youre basically poor and can't pay the bills on your credit report...what do you do?

Not sure... but saying, "What if they are debts sent to collections and you dont make alot of money...you basically live paycheck to paycheck, and pay the bills that are mainly required to keep you above water. What if you are simply just not making it...like youre basically poor and can't pay the bills on your credit report." to a background investigator probably wouldn't be a good thing.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses, rather than taking responsibility for your actions.

There are people out there with insanely pristine credit and make very little money. I don't know how they do it, but it shows a huge amount of maturity and self-control.

I guess you didnt understand my question, and yes there are some people that have INSANELY PRISTINE CREDIT, yes there are...but what if once you had a significant income loss that put you in a some debt, thats not being irresponsible, thats life. Heres an excuse, I didnt pay my bills because I wanted to go to Hawaii and see my mom I havent seen in 7 years. That...is an excuse, everyone is different, nobody was saying that it they wouldnt own up to it, they are saying..how does it LOOK...what usually happens. If you dont really know how to answer the question...leave it alone. When I say income loss I mean...making 50K every year then getting laid off making nothing then making 20k a year...thats an income loss. Do you feel me?:

Every circumstance is different. In your case WannaBeaChippie, it looks to me as if you got laid off from a very well paying job. Its tough to go from a 50k a year lifestyle to living a 20k a year lifestyle most definately. I am sure your BI will take into consideration the whole stituation and ask you to explain before getting DQed.

It would be a totally different story if you made 50k a year, ran up debts your were not able to pay for and just ditched paying them on time. That just shows a total lack of maturity and self control on your part.

Be honest, and Im sure the truth will set you free.

I understand your question just fine... try going from $110k to almost nothing.... then get back to me. Cut it with the attitude.

as long as you are in good standing i don't think you shouyld have any problems, you just have to be able to explain every non-payment. so start doing your research, and tell them about everyone and why BEFORE THEY ASK, DO NOT let them find it and then bring it to your attention. if you tell your BI everything and they confirm there is nothing more than what you have told them, it looks much better for you.

don't let them find anything that you haven't told them about. i have heard of people being DQ'ed because they told them about 8 of 9 write ups at a job and because they forgot about the ninth they were DQ'ed. etc.

honesty is the best policy.
