Yep - still really bad here too - it took me the better part of 20 minutes just to get to this screen to view & type a reply to this post. Good thing I'm multi-tasking, or I woulda just shut 'er down and not bothered!

All is well here, at last. Tuesday evening I decided to make time to let it load & catch up on reading. After a few slow loads, it was back to begin quick for about 10 minutes, then it went slow again. It's fine today (thursday, a bit after 11 am, though!

It has taken me almost 15 minutes to pull this area and respond. It is extremely slow. It seems to be hit and miss. Earlier, the site loaded quickly, then came to a crawl.

Mine was fine when the first posts about slow loading appeared. I almost wrote to brag about my speed of light system. Then it went from marvelous to crappy in the blink of an eye. For the past several days it has been veeeeeeery slow to not worth trying at all. Now suddenly it is working properly again as of about twenty minutes ago anyway.

Shared server systems can be affected by other accounts on the server. There can sometimes be as many as 600 different websites operating on one box, and one account can cause trouble for the entire server. Been through it many, many times. I don't know the circumstances in this case, but most of the time threatening to change hosts gets the ball moving.

Sorry about this folks, it is driving me crazy... Unfortunately, with the cost of my hosting service (free), I can only complain so much. And believe me, I have been. They were supposed to check out the problem on Wednesday and I haven't heard anything. Obviously the problem still exists.

I might as well add my 2 cents. Off and on it has been too slow to use most of the time. For a couple of days, it seemed okay late at night and I thought it might be a bandwidth use problem. But it is 11 PM now and it is working but slower than dial-up and not much fun.
I like this place and hope the issue can be resolved with the provider.

DW, if by any chance you find out how much a paid server would be then MAYBE we could all chip in a little money to get it. Anybody donating would have to understand that it would be giving them no special privileges(unless you wanted them to get something). Just an idea.

Several web hosting providers offer accounts in the $20-$40 dollar range that would be much more responsive than a free solution. I would have no problem donating a few bucks a month (PayPal micropayments baby!) for this site.

I feel your pain... forum issues (technical and human) are a PITA.

I pay ten bucks a year to belong to another web site to listen to internet radio, so I would be willing to pay a small fee for this too.
I spoke too soon earlier, it has taken me over two hours to get to here, so even with a state of the art service provider it remains FU.

Off again, ON again, 9 PM friday night and it is working at lightning speed but this afternoon it would not even load. I too would be will to pay a small fee, preferably through PayPal to finance a website, if that became necessary. I continue to hope that this is ajust a glitch that will be fix soon.

I would pay a fee as well. This sight has been instrumental in getting me where I am in the hiring process. Also, I enjoy reading comments and interacting with those with a common interest. By the way, it is working lightning fast right now.

Man, I have not had any luck with this site in the past week or so. It is moving so slow (took 10 mins. to get to the reply page). I am also willing to pay a sort of fee if we could get this running on a better server. This site is very valuable, and I would hate to see it go for those who are in the same possition I was only a couple months ago. I know that when I get out of the Academy I will come on here and post to help those who need advice. Thanks for the hard work DW and hopefully this gets resolved soon.

We had a service on the box that was slowing things down. We finally identified the culprit and resolved the issue. Sorry for the delay in nailing that down. Please let me know if you see something similar in the future.
