Yesterday I was watching a court TV channel which aired some kind of worst driver or something and there was one incident where state tropper was giving a ticket to a suv dirver. He went off with saying F words and S words and even grabbed state tropper's ticket book and threw it down and threw away the ticket that trooper wrote to the driver.
The state trooper was very calm and told the driver to pick up the ticket or he was going to write him up another ticket for throwing trash...
Just curious, can police officer arrest or cite the driver for cusing at the officer?

I've seen that video at least a dozen times and always get a laugh out of it. I love the mellow tone the Trooper speaks in.

It's funny that you mention this video. I actually asked the same question a few months ago, haha. Here's the link to that thread:

This comes up from time to time on this forum. I have no source to back this up with, but over the last couple of years I have heard he was fired. This same kind fo thing happened to the trooper a few times with his drivers he pulled over flying off the handle. After being investigated, it was discovered he would get the driver all fired up on the first approach to the vehicle and then turn on his video camera for the second approach which is what we see on Court TV and other "real video" shows. If anyone has an article or corraborating information, please post a link or more information.

To answer the question, no -- at least not in California. We're paid an extra 5.4% to take verbal abuse. ;)

Actually, when you factor in the time and a half and shift differential it can be as much as twelve percent more per month.
I actually made several years of payments on my vette with this little known and rarely discused item.

Why on Earth would you even consider a rumor like that???

I believe it... There's definitely more to the video than we're seeing. A quick search reveals everyone seems to have heard the rumor he was fired, but I can't locate anything to back it up.

Only 5.4%??? You are getting ripped off...Taking s*** like that from people...
It is kind of cool though, watching the guy act like a total a** and the Trooper just chillin...

That video clip was shown at the Calibre Press seminar several years back, and the instructors said that the trooper was in fact fired some time after that - but it didn't have anything to do with him jacking people up. It was a separate, unrelated investigation for something else.
