That is real scary!!! I did a ride-along with an officer out of the Newhall office yesterday. I could have eazily been in that car with him. I hope Bruce comes out of it okay.

"The Chevrolet driver, Evan Wade, 22, of Canyon Country, told officers that he had dropped his cell phone and reached down to pick it up, and he hit the patrol car"
*Sigh* Imagine that....somebody paying more attention to their CELL PHONE than they are to their driving!!!!!

I hope he recovers soon!

I don't think he would've survived if that was a Charger instead of a CVPI. Long live the Crown Vic!!

I noticed a patrol unit in the Culver City office lot last night on my way home that had the whole rear end wipped out. Who does the body work on CHP vehicles?...local shops? Although most the wrecked cars I've seen look like a write off.

There's 3 or 4 in that lot that are wrecked and pretty bad. It's scary. One of the officers from my husband's class was hurt pretty bad at the beginning of his break in, and he was on office duty for a long time. He just got off of break in and my husband's been off break-in for a almost a year. I think that's the car you saw. They were hit by a drunk lady around the 4th of July while they were on another DUI stop. I think they are written off, because some have been there since last may when we moved here, and nothing's been done to them but stripped of all the decals and salvageable radio equipment and stuff. I know they take the Crown Vics down to Marina Ford for recalls and all that stuff..
