Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's an external hard drive (extra storage space) for a computer that plugs into a USB slot (most newer computers have USB connections).

one heck of a deal!

when we moved, we bought an external. we saved everything REALLY important (pictures, scanned documents) to disk and mailed them to family to hold. we backed our hard drive up onto an external just in case something happened to our computer while being sent to the mainland. we checked the external in our luggage and luckily everything came through fine.

but what a deal... at the navy exchange, where you get killer deals, our external was that much for only 60gig, i think? 80, maybe?
