Does anyone have any thoughts, or comments regarding the governor's candidate debate from last night?

I didn't get inside, but thought there was as much interesting activity outside as there was inside after reading about the debate later.
I met one guy carrying a sign in front of the debate who really surprised me.:

No one would talk to him, let alone interview him, so I felt obligated to try and figure out what his sign meant. He was a Yugoslavian immigrant with very broken English skills, and a stutter that put Porky Pig to shame, but through it I was able to find that he was advocating for more world wars!! His theory was that until we had more wars, the economy was going to get worse. He was there to protest Meg, because in his world, Meg was an electronic flea market owner, and had no ability to start the economy by building war material. In short, she was not capable of starting the wars that we need.
So I had to askhim: If Meg was not his choice, who was? He pointed towards this one who also had her signs up in front of the event hall:

Kinda surprised me, because Nightingale hasn't really been campaigning on a war hawk stance. She's usually too busy trying to convince the TEA Party crowd that she's really one of them and that despite her lack of credentials, education, experience, funds, and intellect, they should vote for her as an option to the current two evils.

Carlos Alvarez was there too, but he drew even less interest than Nightingale. Felt somewhat sorry for him, but only for a minute.

What topped my evening off was the Vota Tu Valores bus drove by several times and eventually stopped to mingle a little. I spoke with Alphonso Aguilar, who was ex-presidente Bush's chief of the Border Patrol, and is now spearheading a Latino vote drive for Fiorina. My discussion with him solidified my previously held fears as to why we actually had no border security during Bush's term. There were foxes in the hen house.
What was a shame was the Nightingale was so caught up in her glory of what little spotlight she obtained, she totally missed her opportunity to address one of the current leaders of her stated class of opposition. A Nightingale vs Aguilar confrontation probably would have earned her a great deal more respect and coverage than just primping and begging shamelessly before a totally disinterested mainstream press. You snooze, you lose. Maybe in her case it was you schmooze, you lose

The tension between the Brown vs Whitman people outside was a little inspiring. I had previously thought the election choices had wrought another reign of apathy, but there was some spirited debate as well as a little hands on challenging. Not quite up to the anti-war protests of the 60's, but there was a hint of it brewing. Ah..the old days....we need more of 'em

Sounded like the actual "debate" was more of a Talking Point for the media and the Candidates stuck to their prescribed answers.

It seems Candidates now will answer the questions they want to hear rather than the the actual questions asked....

Does anyone know if there is another debate slated for the near future between these two? Seems the closer we get to November, the more intense the debates always get.

I wonder how the Boxer/Fiorina debate will go? :doubt:

In keeping with our policy from the last presidential election, there will be no political discussion allowed in the public forums.
