Going on 1st Ride-along this Sunday!

Hey all,
I get my first chance to do a ride-along this Sunday out of Fresno. A close friend of mine who's an Officer was able to set it up for me. I am very interested in a career with the CHP when the time comes.

I attempted to join the CHP in the early Millennium and ended up not going through with it (kicking myself now to some extent..) to the BI and decided to pursue a career in Higher Education, whereas I have been a Dean at a College for over 5years after finishing my Master's Program. Well, been there, done that and I am ready to for another challenge in life. And the CHP has always been a dream of mine.

I'll update you all after the ride! It's B shift and I plan to be there from Briefing to ______ (whenever the officer gets tired or I do!).

Can't Wait. And yes, I did read many of the helpful posts on here about other's experiences and tips for ride-alongs. Thanks!

Having been an explorer and having done many ride alongs... Have Fun!! Pay attention, ask questions, and have fun. I have done two ride alongs in Fresno in the last year and it's a blast. On Sunday, the weather should be nice which is a plus.

Well Dean have fun, dress casual, decent jeans and a polo or button up short sleeve shirt, light jacket if it could get cool out. Some money for lunch or sluprpees. If you will be out after dark, bring a small flashlight, pen light type LED would be fine, something that will fit in your pocket, just so you can see were you're trying to walk.

The interesting part is trying to deciper the radio traffic.
